Welcome to the first post in a new weekly series!
This series will be mostly for me, to help me remember the mundane things that happened throughout the week that didn't seem to matter at the time, but it's always those things that I look back and wish I remembered.
This week was kind of a lazy one. Which is fine every now and then, I think. We stayed home a lot, Jesse worked all week (which I know is normal for normal jobs, but he works retail so his days off are all over the place). When he works a lot, we don't take many pictures. So this week we didn't take many pictures, and I only posted like twice on Instagram. Who even am I?!
I also worked quite a bit this week, and will be from now on. So this week was me kind of getting used to my new schedule of 6 classes, and will even possible be adding more. So I was trying to gauge whether or not I could handle that plus keeping up with me blog and instagram. I didn't get too overwhelmed this week, so hopefully that's a good sign. I tend to give myself a lot of different projects because I think I can handle it, and then end up utterly failing at every single one and having multiple mental breakdowns, so...
Jesse's been doing a lot with his photography lately and he's been getting more gigs which is amazing! But having a husband who works full time and is a photographer part time means he never really has a day off. But if he gets to do what he loves then I 'm happy for him.
He was able to buy a new lens, recently, which is huge and something he's been saving for. He/we got a 24-70mm for our Canon Rebel T6i, and now will be saving up for a new body so we can shoot weddings and things together. I joked (kinda, I made it seem like a joke, but I really wasn't joking) that because he got to re-invest so much money into his brand instead of putting that money toward the debt we're working so hard to pay off, that I get to re-invest the same amount into my brand via a shopping spree. Needless to say, he was not on board with this idea.
I also binge watched Riverdale this week. A teenage soap opera that got me hooked and I couldn't stop till I finished it. And now that I'm caught up I feel like I can move on with my life.
It was a pretty warm week, finally, June gloom gave us a little break for a few days and now it's back. So we spent some time at the pool and the beach.
Trying to get a cute picture of Evvie in her flamingo floatie but the sun was too bright haha
We walked to the beach to try to fly our kite, and Ever actually got it up for a few seconds even without much wind!
One of my favorite things about summer is our evening family walks. We walk to the beach, we walk to the pier, we walk to the mall, we walk wherever because the sun is still out when Jesse gets home from work and it's warm enough. It's my favorite, and I hope we do it for the rest of our lives. We walked somewhere new this week; we went to explore some of the hotels we live near. And, of course, had to experiment with our new lens while we were at it.
Lazy days:
Morning walks for açaí bowls:
And evvie took it upon herself to make a rocket and space helmet out of boxes.
Now that I’ve written this post, and see our week in pictures, we actually did a lot this week, even though it didn’t feel like it. I already forgot, so I’m happy to be starting this series.
