Copenhagen was our first stop in our European adventure. I’d always wanted to visit. Danish style, design, and culture has always fascinated me, and it was so cool to be there in real life. We only had about a day and a half in Copenhagen, so I feel like we didn’t get to fully experience the culture, so I’d love to go back one day and explore all of beautiful Denmark.
We landed in Copenhagen around 1:40pm, then took a taxi from the airport to our hotel. We stayed in the Vesterbro district, right next to the train station and a 10 minute walk to Tivoli, and Zleep Copenhagen. We really liked this hotel! Other than the fact that our bed was literally a twin size for all 4 of us and we got no sleep at all because of that and jet lag 😜
Once we got to the hotel we got settled and cleaned up, then headed out to Tivoli (took one iPhone shot of the carousel 🤦🏼♀️). Tivoli is a little amusement park, and apparently the second oldest operating amusement park in the world! It reminded us of Pleasure Island from Pinocchio, and we loved it so much. Definitely recommend if you’re going to Copenhagen with kids!
Our second day (and last day), we tried to pack as much in as we could! We actually had a great day. We bought the city pass which gave us access to the trains and buses, and it was super easy to navigate. We first found a place to eat. An instagram follower recommended a rooftop cafe, which we thought we found but actually found and ate at the restaurant with was veryyyy expensive and we didn’t realize till after (jet lag 😂).
After we ate we walked to magstraede, which is a line of colorful townhomes with original cobblestone streets, and a popular place to snap photos.
Then we walked to Christiansborg castle then Nyhavn. Nyhavn was so beautiful and definitely lived up to my expectations! After Nyhavn we planned to get the famous danish bubble waffle pastries, but it started pouring and we weren’t sure when it would stop so we went back to the hotel. Later that night we found a mall and walked around for a little while, bought some snacks, and then that was it haha. Like I said, I’d love to go back to Denmark and experience it at a slower pace and really take in the culture.
