We decided to take the train to Italy I from Switzerland instead of flying because it was cheaper for the 4 of us. However, the campervan rental company had to still drop us off at the airport instead of the train station. We woke up at 2:30am (after getting a whole 2 hours of sleep), left at 3 to get gas, and returned our rental van at 4am so we could make our train by 6am. We got to the airport around 5 and from there just planned to get an uber to the train station. However, every uber that we ordered either cancelled or drove past us when they saw the kids. Finally, Jesse found a taxi driver willing to take us and we made it to the train station with only a few minutes to spare.

The second leg of our trip was Switzerland (and surrounding areas), and this is where our trip started to get really stressful. Read all about our crazy campervan experience.

Jesse went into work at noon today. The days he works 12-8 are very bittersweet. It means we have time to do something in the morning, but it also means he doesn't get home until late, usually after Evvie is already in bed. Today, he's MOD (manager on duty) which means he'll be extra late because he has to be the last one to leave.

I haven't blogged in over a month. How sad. Things have been crazy over here, but I'm happy to get back into it with this little spontaneous adventure we went on.
I always forget that this time of year the weather is bipolar. It'll be 50 degrees when you leave in the morning and then 80 by noon. So, note to self: dress in layers. I was wearing a long sleeve with jeans and very quickly regretted it. Granted, we weren't planning to go to the zoo when we left in the morning, otherwise I would have planned ahead.
Ever woke up at 5:30 in the morning. So we had lots of time to get ready and somehow made it out of the house by 9 to go to Denny's with Jesse's mom and grandma. And, there was a white wall. So, photos, duh.

Another trip to Utah.
We didn't get to see my family for christmas this year so we had to plan a trip a couple weeks into january. Plus, we were waiting for my sister to have her precious baby boy.
It worked out perfectly, as it always does, and my extended family was able to travel south to see us, and we did our whole chirstmas thing together.

It's always a struggle figuring out what we're doing for thanksgiving because Jesse works in retail and it's mandatory that he works every single black Friday. But, thank God, this year, he randomly had tuesday, wednesday, and thursday off, (then got his monday covered) so we quickly communicated with my family and planned to do thanksgiving early on wednesday so we could fly home on thursday in time for the black friday madness. The Lord really had His hand over this whole trip. It was completely bizarre that he even had those days off, and the way we were able to plan everything in a few days was amazing.

We woke up bright and early because of daylight savings, and found ourselves with so much time before church. So we decided to take Ever to see her beloved airplanes that she loves to watch take off from the airport near our house.

A random sunday afternoon, and we decided to head to LA to our favorite museum: The Getty. We got there at 5 (they close at 5:30), just long enough to wander around outside and take some pictures. Such is our life. Late everywhere, but we always manage to get a million pictures somehow.

We've been sick all week and have hardly left the house. But the other night we had plans to go to T-Mobile so I could get the iPhone 7. Which we soon were informed that they're all sold out until the end of October. Anyways, on our way we decided to first make a stop at the beach so Jesse could fly his drone (eye roll). But, the waves were amazingly huge, and the sunset was the prettiest I've seen in a while, and we took probably some of my favorite pictures to date. We weren't all dressed up, we didn't have a specific product we had to take pictures of, and it wasn't our goal to even take pictures, and I think that's why I love them so much.
Sometimes I really hate California and wish Jesse would want to move to Utah. But, times like this remind me that this is home for now, and I love it.

When your friends have a wedding at a vineyard, you're pretty much obligated to take pictures amongst the trees, right? Okay good, we're not the only ones...

Our 2 year wedding anniversary was quickly approaching, and, like with every other special event, we didn't even notice, let alone make plans. So a couple days before the actual day, we very very last minute and spontaneously decided to spend the night in Palm Springs. We found a hotel, booked it, packed up for the night and hit the road.
We invited Jesse's mom along so she could babysit Ever while we went on a date that night. Which didn't end up happening, but I'll get to that later.

A mutual day off for all of us, including our friend Angel, aka Uncle Angel, and what do we do? Go to LA of course.
We love LA. It's only an hour drive from Orange County (where we live), and there's so much to explore. You'll literally never see it all. Â
This time we decided to explore the Arts District. There's a cool new "museum" that we saw the last time we were here, but didn't have time to check it out. Â
Of course, picturesque walls galore. What I didn't take any pictures off however, were alllll the walls with super cool abstract murals. But, you can never go wrong with a white brick wall.
Jesse's shirt is from Jean and June, and was a limited Father's Day style, but check out their amazing other styles! Â
My outfit: chambray top + tee + sunglasses.
Uncle Angel:Â
Second stop: The Line Hotel. This hotel is home to The Comissary restaurant (you've probably seen it on Instagram. The restaurant that looks like a green house). We've eaten here before so thought we would go again because we loved it. But, we were a little early for dinner, and decided nothing on the dinner menu looked good so we took pictures and walked (because we thought we wouldn't be able to find parking but when we got there the restaurant had its own parking. Whoops.) 15 minutes to Beer Belly. Definitely a good choice.
San Juan Capistrano | a daycation
Our adventure today got off to a slow start. Of course, we had to wait to get out of the house until Ever woke up from her morning nap. Then, we originally planned to drive north to Santa Monica, and traffic was horrible, and after driving an hour we turned around and drove another hour in the opposite direction. To San Juan Capistrano. There was no parking because everyone and their mom (literally) was there for Prom to take pictures. What we gathered from eavesdropping is that it was a planned event for everyone to take pictures there. So we got to see all the cute dresses and slightly annoying high schoolers. Can't believe we used to be annoying high schoolers. Now we're cool parents. Â
Adventuring is hard with a baby. We used to drop everything and drive somewhere spontaneously without a second thought. But now, Ever's needs come first, and it can be a little frustrating when she slows us down or puts a damper on our plans for the day. But a tired baby is not a fun baby, so that takes priority. Thankfully, today Ever was is a great mood, even though she only slept for 30 minutes of the 2 hour car ride. Â
After walking around a little bit, we went to dinner where Ever attracted all the stares with her happy screams. Â
Oh there was also a petting zoo. The end.
Ever's outfit:Â
bow: Fourth + Pierce
top: Zara Â
shorts: June Park
shoes: Mon Petite Shoes Â

Temecula | a daycation
Okay, maybe not a daycation, we drove to Temecula for the wedding of a friend from Bible College. Neither of us had been back since my last semester there. The wedding was near these gorgeous vineyards so, of course, we had to trespass for some pictures. Â
After we left the wedding, we were so close to our old stomping grounds, the bible college (where Jesse and I met), so we made a quick stop to reminisce.
Rumor has it, if you walk around the lake with someone 3 times, you're going to get married. Jesse and I went for jogs around the lake, so...Â
Laguna Beach | a daycation
That one time we took too long to get ready, drove a few minutes down the PCH to Laguna, walked around for about an hour, got wayyy too hot and tired, and decided to go home and nap. Â
Searched way too long for a coffee shop to eventually just decide to go to Whole Foods where their espresso machine was cenveniently broken. Â
So Evvie helped me pick out a cold brew instead. Â
Ever's outfit:
june park shirt
h&m tights
mon petite shoes Â
kait and kids flower crown
LA | a daycation
Jesse's day off again, and we planned to go to Santa Barbara. But halfway there decided we'd rather go somewhere closer so stopped in LA for some good eats, museum hopping, and good old traffic jams. Â
We both really hope Ever has an adventurous spirit like the two of us. So we've gotta teach her young, right? The older she gets, the better she is with all day outings. She was a champ this time around going in and out of her car seat. And we even managed to get her naps and feeding right on schedule. She's like super baby. And I'm like super mom (kidding). Â
LA always reminds me of when Jesse and I were first dating. Our first date was to Hollywood and around that area. And we've always loved daycationing to tried and true but also new places.
Ate: The Commisary, Salt and Straw, and some pizza place.
Saw: LACMA, the tar pits, the ghetto, and Griffith Observatory.
